LDC Files Federal Lawsuit

The Waynesboro Republicans are men and women of principle. Their goal is to defend the Constitution, with energy, courage and good humor.

February 26, 2015

On Wednesday, February 25th, the Legislative District Committee for Senate District 24 filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Harrisonburg.

Here is the opening paragraph of the legal Complaint.

“This is a suit challenging the legality of Va. Code (1950), 24.2-509 (B), as amended, also known as the Incumbent Protection Act (“the Act”). As set forth herein, the Act infringes upon the defendant’s right of free association secured by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.”

The Incumbent Protection Act is an unconstitutional law which distorts the election process. It is my firm belief that we will prevail in court and succeed in overturning this pernicious statute.

The Waynesboro Republican Committee has been called the Full Throttle Committee, because we do good things at full speed.

You are cordially invited to join us. We are always looking for people who have pure hearts, strong principles and good minds.
