Official Call for a Mass Meeting of the
Waynesboro Republican Committee of
the Republican Party of Virginia

              As Chairman of the Waynesboro Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Ken Adams, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Waynesboro Library, 600 South Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, in Meeting Room A, starting at 7:00 pm local time on Thursday, March 12, 2015.

              The purpose of the Mass Meeting is to elect up to 185 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to a Convention of the Republican Legislative District for Senate District 24. The Convention will elect the Republican Senate candidate to represent Senate District 24 in the General Election that will be held on November 3, 2015.

              The Convention will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the East Rockingham High School, 250 Eagle Rock Road, Elkton, Virginia 22827, beginning at 10:00 am.

Qualifications for Participation

              All legal and qualified voters of Waynesboro under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, as expressed in the Virginia Republican Creed and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

              All persons seeking to be elected as Delegates to the Convention shall pre-file a form by Wednesday, February 25, 2015. A copy of that form is attached to the Call.

              The completed pre-file form shall be delivered to the Secretary of the Committee, Sandy Adams, 712 Pelham Drive, Waynesboro 22980. Delivery may be made by hand or mail. Postmarks do not govern.

              Persons who do not pre-file shall not be elected as Delegates or Alternates to the Convention.

              Should the number of those who pre-file be less than the number of Delegates allowed, those who have pre-filed will be declared elected and the Mass Meeting shall be canceled.


              Registration will begin at 6:30 pm and will remain open until the time of balloting. The Mass Meeting will begin at 7:00 pm.

              Those who seek to participate in the Mass Meeting shall be required to present valid photo identification at the time of registration.

Registration Fee

              There will be no registration fee to participate in the Mass Meeting.

Conduct of the Mass Meeting

              The Mass Meeting shall be governed by the State Party Plan of the Republican Party of Virginia, the bylaws of the Waynesboro Republican Committee and the current edition of Roberts Rules of Order. Should there be a conflict relating to governance, preference shall be given to the State Party Plan, then the Bylaws of the Waynesboro Republican Committee and then Roberts Rules of Order.

              The election of Convention Delegates by slate or grouping is expressly forbidden and shall not be permitted at the Mass Meeting. All elections are of individuals only.

              I, ____________________________________________, do hereby declare that I seek to be elected as a Delegate to the April 25, 2015 Convention to nominate the Senate candidate to represent the Republican Party in Senate District 24. In accordance with the qualifications set forth in the State Party Plan and the Call of this Convention, I certify that I am a qualified and registered voter in Waynesboro.

              Further, I am in accord with the principles of the Republican Party of Virginia, as expressed in the Virginia Republican Creed, and intend to support the Republican nominees in the next election.
